D. Kerry Nickerson, Executive Vice President, Development Director - Miller Global - Denver
Mr. Nickerson joined Miller Global in 2009 as an Executive Vice President Development Director with primary responsibility as Development Director for oversight and management of new development projects and capital expenditures for current real estate assets in the hotel and office markets. He has a career of over 28 years of experience leading all phases of development, design, and construction in many industries throughout the United States. In addition to the last 12 years of hospitality experience, his career also includes major projects in government, industrial and commercial developments.
Prior to joining Miller Global, Mr. Nickerson was Vice President, Development for Host Hotels & Resorts from 2004 – 2009 where he was responsible for managing large and complex repositioning development projects. The hotel real estate portfolio consisted of four and five star properties with brands including Marriott, Ritz Carlton, Hyatt, Four Seasons, Fairmont, Sheraton, Westin and Hilton.
Preceding Host Hotels & Resorts from 1998 – 2004, Mr. Nickerson was President of Pace Management, LLC a consulting firm that provided project management services for hospitality, office and other commercial real estate owners including all phases of project development. Prior to this, Mr. Nickerson was a Senior Project Manager with a national design/build firm, Facility Group, and a Vice President with a major national architecture & engineering design firm, Rosser International. Mr. Nickerson began his career as a U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps commissioned officer managing design and construction projects for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
Mr. Nickerson holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1982 with a focus on Construction Management and Structural Design. He attended Tulane University School of Architecture prior to completing his degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
