James Miller
Mr. Miller is President of Miller
Global Properties. Mr. Miller has worked in real estate with his father, Micky
Miller, since 1978 when he joined Miller-Davis Co.
In his 25 years of real estate
experience, Mr. Miller has been a key player in targeting significant real
estate opportunities and developing new relationships through his extensive
contacts in the real estate industry. He is experienced in a wide variety of
innovative transactions involving all types of real estate.
Since 1993, Mr. Miller has been
involved in sourcing and negotiating acquisitions, dispositions, equity ventures
and financing; coordinating asset management and company operations; overseeing
office building and hotel developments; supervising leasing and marketing; directing and
reviewing financial analyses; developing project and company business plans; and
creating and organizing a leasing and property management company.
During his tenure at Miller-Davis
Co., which culminated in his position as Executive Vice President, he was
responsible for the leasing, marketing and management of over 5 million square
feet of office space throughout the U.S.
From 1978 to 1982, Mr. Miller was
responsible for leasing four major downtown office buildings and two suburban
buildings in Denver, Colorado, where he negotiated over 2 million square feet of
leases, including the largest single office lease (575,000 square feet) in
dollars in the state’s history.
From 1982 to 1984, Mr. Miller was
development manager for a high-rise office building in San Francisco’s financial
district where he coordinated the completion of shell and core construction and
supervised marketing, leasing, tenant construction, and property management.
From 1984 to 1993, Mr. Miller was
involved in all facets of development of major office and hotel projects;
oversaw hotel and resort operations; was responsible for internal company
operations; conducted office market analyses; negotiated dispositions;
interfaced with lenders and joint venture partners; directed contractors and
architects; and developed and implemented the leasing, marketing and property
management programs at Fox Plaza and The Water Garden in Los Angeles. Mr.
Miller negotiated substantially all of the nearly 1.4 million square feet of
initial leases in these two major West Los Angeles office projects.
Mr. Miller graduated in 1978
with a B.A. in economics, political science and theater studies from Yale
University.
